Item A: Interdisciplinary Unit
| For this project I worked with classmates from Ed 335 to integrate Science, Art, and Mathematics into one Interdisciplinary Unit. We combined our knowledge to create a unit on the Properties of Matter. We gave rationale for our choice in activity, included objectives, standards, and assessment. This artifact is found under Standard 8 because it illustrates my abilities to work with other teachers/colleagues in a manner that will better the quality of education for students. Performance indicator 8L says that, "a competent teacher initiates collaboration with others to create opportunities that enhance student learning." I believe that the students' will be impacted more in several disciplines because of my collaboration with my colleagues. |
Item B: Integrated Unit

| Integrated Unti For this project I worked with classmate Caitlin Malski to combine both of our areas of expertise. Caitlin and I combined my Special Education knowledge with her English knowledge and our combined Spanish knowledge to create a creative unit. This unit was created for my Reading in the Content Areas class. It serves as a review unit for a first year Spanish class. It also allows students to practice research and writing skills as well as review Spanish vocabulary used throughout the year. The final result is a project that all students will enjoy and hopefully become engaged in. |
This artifact is found under Standard 8 because it illustrates my abilities to work with other teachers/colleagues in a manner that will better the quality of education for students. I learned a lot from collaborating with a fellow colleague and hope to do more collaboration in the future. I hope you take some time to browse through our unit and see what it's all about!
