Item A: ABCs of Kindergarten Brochure

While at Aunt Nancy’s Childcare, I wanted to introduce myself and my classroom to parents.  I created an ABC’s to Kindergarten handout to give to the parents during the beginning of the year open house.  Performance indicator 6E models accurate, effective communication when conveying ideas and information and when asking questions and responding to students.  This brochure shows how I would communicate to parents and guardians of my students' the procedures used in my classroom.  In order to enhance my students’ learning and experience in the classroom I collaborated with my student’s parents throughout the entire semester.

Item B: English-Spanish Pet Day Letter

Type : pdf

Performance indicator 6l says that, "The competent teacher uses a variety of communication modes to effectively communicate with a diverse student population."  For a teacher aiding placement I created a Pet Day letter to send out to students' parents.  I had a very ethnically diverse class with students' speaking both English and Spanish.  To effectively communicate with students' parents in their language I created this parent letter in both English and Spanish.  Again, communication and collaboration with parents is essential in the students learning the best they can.
